Parasites & Human Health

Parasites interact with the body’s internal environment and can influence physical functions, symptoms and energetic balance. Their presence, effects and relationship with the host vary from one individual to another.

This area brings together biological information, direct observation, first-hand experiences and the research that led to Silvia Isaksen’s work on parasites.

A Technical Map

Hundreds of parasite species are known to infect humans. They include protozoa, helminths and ectoparasites, with different life cycles, locations and relationships with the host.

Diagnostic methods cover different groups and species. No single test can investigate the entire known range of human parasites.

A Neglected Field

Parasitology is often taught within broader courses in microbiology, infectious diseases or laboratory medicine. Medical training and routine diagnostics concentrate on a limited selection of clinically recognised parasites.

The diversity of species, symptoms and diagnostic methods can leave some infestations unexplored while the person moves through repeated consultations addressing their individual symptoms.

Fasting & the Host Environment

Fasting changes the nutritional and energetic environment shared by the host and its parasites. Reduced nutrient availability may limit the activity or survival of some species, while the effects depend on the parasite, its location, its life cycle and the individual condition of the host.

Silvia Isaksen’s Book

Silvia Isaksen approaches parasites from a hygienist and energetic perspective, drawing on scientific literature, direct experience, fasting, traditional knowledge and the work of researchers and authors including Dr. Hulda Clark.

Her book develops the complete enquiry: the relationship between parasites and the internal environment, the limits of current observation, the role of frequency and the practical questions that emerged through years of research.

Bibliography & Recommended Reading

This bibliography brings together academic reference works, scientific resources, popular science, natural hygiene and broader conceptual contributions that informed Silvia Isaksen’s research and the enquiry developed in her book. The sources differ in method and perspective and are included according to the role they played in the development of the work.
